The 14th General Assembly Meeting (GAM) of APAARI was hosted by COA and held at the Hotel National, in Taichung, Taiwan on 3 November 2016. Dr Waraporn Prompoj, Deputy Director General, Department of Agriculture (DOA), Thailand representing Dr Suwit Chaikiattiyos, Chairman, APAARI and Director General, DOA, Thailand, chaired the General Assembly Meeting. Since Dr Abul Kalam Azad, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), Bangladesh could not attend the meeting due to some pressing commitments, Dr Sharif Haron, Director General, Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), Kula Lumpur, Malaysia was requested to act as the Vice Chair. The Agenda items agreed and modified as discussed are given in Annexure I. Forty six members, partners, special invitees and APAARI staff and consultants participated in the meeting.
