Webinar Announcement

Introduction: In the context of COVID-19 travel restrictions and social distancing, capacity development for strengthening knowledge management systems (KMS) in the agricultural sector of Iran, focused on AREEO, is through a series of webinars. The webinars are targeting scientists, researchers, experts, educators, extensionists, academics, university students and other professionals, interested to learn about successful institutional KM models, processes and tools, envisioned to lead to transformative changes of KMS in Iran. The first KM Webinar will focus on highlighting the past and on-going KM efforts to strengthen agricultural innovation systems (AIS) in Iran, the important role of KM in agricultural sector of Iran – particularly facilitation of knowledge sharing, learning and cooperation among the various stakeholders, as well as showcasing a success story of how KM contributed to a transformation of a national agricultural research system institution in the Philippines.

Purpose and format: The Webinar will explore internal and external factors in developing agricultural knowledge sharing to strengthen AIS in Iran; and present innovative perspectives, concepts and models of the use of KM in the agricultural sector; as well as successful experiences in the transformation of AIS in the Philippines. The format used for the Webinar will be a combination of presentations and discussions.

Webinar program date: There are two hours program beginning at 9:00 to 11:00 (Austria, Vienna time), 11:30 to 13:30 (Iran, Tehran time), 12:30 to 14:30 (India, Delhi time) and 15:00 to 17:00 (Manila, Philippines time) in August 17, 2020.

Participation: Participation is open to the staff and members of AREEO and APAARI, as well as those with a professional interest in the themes of the Webinar such as researchers, experts, educators, extensionists, academics, students at national, regional and international levels.

Working language: The working language for the Webinar is English.

Registration and attendance: This is the first series of the KM Webinar to be held by APAARI and AREEO, it is open to all members and non-members and no conference fee will be administered.
