The $10,000 award recognizes young pioneers in the agricultural sector who are seeking to push boundaries in their fight against world hunger – just as Norman E. Borlaug did as a young scientist.

Nominees must be under the age of 40 at the time of World Food Day 2020 (October 16), working closely and directly “in the field”, or at the production or processing level with farmers, animal herders, fishers or others in rural communities to implement science-based solutions for food production, processing, or distribution.

The recipient will be formally honoured in a ceremony at the Borlaug Dialogue International Symposium in Des Moines, Iowa in October 2020.
