Our solutions are in nature
This article is a collective thought from the authors of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), underlining the significant role of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in managing societal problems and complex issues brought by environmental degradation and exploitation. Likewise, the reflection addresses the occasion of International Day for Biological Diversity 2020 with the theme “Our Solutions are in Nature”.
It highlights the importance of NbS to support technological and economic innovation and equally considered as an essential measure in climate change adaptation, sustainable development goals framework, and simultaneously supporting human well-being and biodiversity benefits. ICIMOD similarly listed their regional programmes on transboundary landscapes and river basins and cryosphere, which are framed using the NbS approach. Click HERE to read the article.
