A 10-days short course on “Preparation of bioformulation of fungal and bacterial biocontrol agents for management of biotic stress of agricultural crops” is being held from September 1 to 10, 2017 at the Department of Plant Pathology, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam. Twenty two scientists/teachers in the rank of Assistant Professor and above in the disciplines of Plant Pathology, Entomology, Nematology and Microbiology from 17 different institutions of India are participating in the course. The course sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi would cover the following-

  1. Isolation of fungal and bacterial biocontrol agents from rhizosphere, phylosphere and insect cadavers.
  2. Taxonomic and molecular characterization
  3. Maintenance of culture
  4. Identification of potential biocontrol agents
  5. Mass culture of biocontrol agents
  6. Factors affecting the bioformulation
  7. Role of spreader, sticker and adjuvant5 in preparation of bioformulation
  8. Preparation of high quality liquid and solid bioformulation
  9. Shelf life study, Quality control
